On 15 April 2025, the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore hosted the presentation of a single archaeological exhibit from CHORM's collection, titled "The Golden Ducat from Vasyliv", timed to coincide with International Day for Monuments and Sites.

The event moderator, Oksana Dragomyretska, Head of the Department of Archaeology, Medieval History, and Modern History of the Region, emphasised in her welcoming speech that guests have a unique opportunity to view an original exhibit, which very rarely leaves the museum's treasury and will be on display for one day only.

Mykola Ilkiv, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Assistant Professor at the Department of World History of ChNU, and leading researcher at CHORM, delivered an extensive scientific presentation dedicated to the valuable artefact. In the introductory part, the speaker presented a brief history of gold usage in ancient times and the emergence and spread of the first gold coins. It was noted that the coin from the museum's collection is a Venetian ducat (zecchino), minted during the reign of Doge Domenico II Contarini (1659-1675). The obverse depicts St. Mark handing a banner to the Doge; the reverse shows Christ among the stars in an oval nimbus. A visible hole indicates that it was used as a pendant icon. The coin was found in 1960 on the site of the remains of a white-stone church from the 12th-17th century in Vasyliv village. Thanks to their quality and significant mintage volumes, Venetian ducats were in circulation, particularly in international trade, for many centuries.

Responding to numerous questions from the audience, Mykola Ilkiv briefly introduced the history of ancient Vasyliv and its unique antiquities.

At the conclusion of the event, guests had the opportunity to examine the exhibited coin more closely.
