The permanent exhibition is dedicated to one of the most important chemical substances, without which organic life is impossible – water. It is a component of many rocks and living organisms (plants and animals contain over 60% water, some – even close to 90%), this substance covers over 70% of the Earth's surface and is one of the most widespread on our planet. The water cycle on the planet is of immense importance, resulting in, for example, precipitation (rain, snow, fog, etc.). It is precipitation, along with another indicator – air humidity – that directly participates in regulating weather and climate. Natural waters also act as one of the most important geological factors, as their action causes changes in the appearance of the Earth's surface.

Water is extremely important for living organisms, as many processes (including nutrition) occur thanks to it. This substance is widely used by humans in technology and agriculture.

The exhibition presents information on the main properties of water, as well as interesting facts about this substance. The importance of water for the existence of all life on our planet and its role in human life are discussed.

Here you can see herbarium specimens of plants, taxidermy and wet preparations of animals (fish, amphibians, birds, and mammals) whose lives are directly or indirectly linked to the aquatic environment. Specifically, you can get a close look at the great white and grey herons, the Western marsh harrier, nutria, the enigmatic salamander and newts, the European pond turtle, almost two dozen species of fish (including rare ones such as sterlet, Danube ruffe, and striped ruffe). And also learn that two species of grass snakes live in Bukovyna, one of which (the dice snake) does not have yellow 'ears' and is found exclusively along the Dniester river in our region.

A separate section of the exhibition is dedicated to water conservation – a unique substance and an exceptionally valuable resource, without which life on our planet would become impossible.
