On 10 April 2025, a public lecture titled "HUZARY: those who lit a candle without complaining about the darkness…" was held at the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore by Dr. of Historical Sciences, Professor of BSMU Mariya Mandryk-Melnychuk.

During her presentation, the invited lecturer creatively recreated the atmosphere of the late 19th – first half of the 20th century, and spoke about the worldview of the Ukrainian intellectual and spiritual elite of Bukovyna.

The initiator and moderator of the event was Oksana Dragomyretska, Head of the Department of Archeology, Medieval History, and Modern History of the Region.

To help guests immerse themselves in the spirit of past eras, assistance was provided by Yevheniya Nesterenko, a piano teacher at Music School No. 1 m. Chernivtsi, laureate of international and all-Ukrainian competitions, and the S. Vorobkevych Literary and Art Prize. She performed two works by prominent composers F. Chopin and N. Nyzhankivsky on a grand piano from the "Austrian era".

During the lecture, attendees learned many new and little-known facts about the history of the Huzar family and its most prominent representatives. The lecturer paid special attention to the figures of Olha and Volodymyr, who connected their lives with Bukovyna.

In conclusion, Ms. Mariya shared memories of meeting and personal communication with the Head of the UGCC, Beatitude Lubomyr Huzar – a representative of the renowned Ukrainian family.

Additionally, in the art hall of the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore, guests had the opportunity to view the book exhibition "Lubomyr Huzar: Thoughts as a Legacy", which was kindly prepared by the staff of the Mykhailo Ivasiuk Chernivtsi Regional Universal Scientific Library.
