Easter is one of the greatest Christian holidays, a celebration eagerly awaited by both adults and children. It is, first and foremost, a celebration of faith, love, and hope. One of its most important and special symbols is the pysanka. Easter is undoubtedly incomplete without a pysanka. Interestingly, the pysanka as a phenomenon dates back to ancient times. Today, it has become a distinct artistic direction and has given rise to a separate branch of art – pysankarstvo (pysanka decorating), which has achieved significant development in Ukraine.

A large collection of pysanky is preserved in the funds of the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore. That is why, on the eve of Easter, the museum staff decided to share these artistic treasures and give museum visitors the opportunity to see unique examples of pysankarstvo.

On May 2nd, the exhibition "The Radiance of the Easter Pysanka" opened in the museum's exhibition hall, where visitors could not only explore nearly four hundred examples of pysanky, created using various techniques and paintings, but also see samples of pottery, wicker products, taistry, and magnificent homemade carpets, whose patterns harmoniously echo the Bukovynian pysanky.

During the exhibition opening, a master class on pysanka decorating was organized, led by the wonderful and talented craftswoman, pysanka artist Bohdana Krasovska. Among the attendees of the event were also internally displaced persons, who gladly joined the master class.
