On March 7, 2024, the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore hosted a scientific seminar "Bukovynian Shevchenkiana" for lecturers and teachers of Ukrainian language and literature from educational institutions in Chernivtsi Oblast and the city of Chernivtsi, dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko.

The seminar began with a welcoming address from guests – Yuliia Hrytsku-Andriiesh, Deputy Head of Chernivtsi Oblast State Administration (Regional Military Administration), Olena Bodnar, Head of the Culture Department of Chernivtsi Oblast State Administration (Regional Military Administration), Viktor Hryha, Chief Specialist of the Department for Reform Support and Audit of Local Programs of Chernivtsi Oblast Council, Deputy of Dnistrovskyi District Council, Vasyl Fedorak, Methodist of the Scientific and Methodological Centre for Social and Humanitarian Disciplines of the Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education of Chernivtsi Oblast, and Oksana Rotar, Acting Director of the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore.

During the seminar, scholars from Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University delivered thematic lectures dedicated to the great Kobzar.

Volodymyr Antofiichuk, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Literature at the Philological Faculty of Chernivtsi National University, delivered a lecture titled "The 100th Anniversary of T. H. Shevchenko in Bukovyna." He also made a valuable donation to the #ЧОКМ fund, presenting the museum with a rare postcard featuring a portrait of Taras Shevchenko and Sylvestr Yarychevsky's German-language article "Poet of Love and Protest" (1914), along with its modern re-edition with Ukrainian and Romanian translations (2009).

Olha Melenchuk, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Literature at the Philological Faculty of Chernivtsi National University, presented participants of the seminar with works by Bukovynian artists dedicated to the Kobzar in her lecture "Bukovynian Artistic Shevchenkiana from its Beginnings to the Present Day."

Svitlana Shabat-Savka, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Modern Ukrainian Language at the Philological Faculty of Chernivtsi National University, spoke about the linguistic features of the Kobzar's works in her lecture "'Well, what would words seem to be...': Linguistic means of realizing aesthetic intentions in Taras Shevchenko's poetic discourse."

Ivan Derda, People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor of the Department of Music at Chernivtsi National University, Acting Head of the Chernivtsi Oblast branch of the All-Ukrainian Society "Prosvita" named after Taras Shevchenko, delivered a lecture titled "Mykola Lysenko: Music to the Words of Taras Shevchenko," inspiring the audience with the fervent words of the Kobzar and performances of his works.

The seminar moderator, Oksana Dragomyretska, Head of the Department of Archaeology, Medieval History, and Modern History of the Region, presented the printed publication prepared for the anniversary by the CHML – a booklet titled "Taras Shevchenko: The Bukovynian Context." O. Dragomyretska also introduced the exhibition "Shevchenkiana in the Artistic Word and Image of Bukovyna," featuring materials from the CHML funds and the Olha Kobylianska Chernivtsi Literary-Memorial Museum. The artistic section of this exhibition, showcasing works by artists from Chernivtsi Higher Professional Art School No. 5 and rarities from the museum of this educational institution, was presented by its director, Natalia Boichuk. The guest exhibition "The Book of the Ukrainian People (editions of "Kobzar" from the funds of the Scientific Library of Chernivtsi National University)" was presented by Tetiana Murashevych, Head of the Scientific and Methodological Department of the Scientific Library of Chernivtsi National University.

The seminar took place in a friendly atmosphere of constructive cooperation and spiritual unity in the spirit of a true "festive academy" in honor of the great Kobzar, as it was more than a century ago.
