On 9 November 2023, the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore prepared and held a historical and local lore seminar titled “350 Years of the Battle of Khotyn (1673)” for lecturers, history teachers, and leaders of local lore clubs from educational institutions in Chernivtsi city and Chernivtsi Oblast. The seminar aimed to inform and popularise little-known pages of our region's history. The scientific and educational event took place with the support of the Department of Culture of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration (RSA/RMA) and the Department of Education and Science of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration (RSA/RMA). The Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education of Chernivtsi Oblast also acted as a co-organiser for this seminar. Scholars from the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, and the Khotyn Fortress State Historical and Architectural Reserve actively participated in the event.

Oksana Dragomyretska, Head of the Research and Exhibition Department of Archaeology, Medieval History, and Modern History of the Region at the Museum, moderated the historical and local lore seminar and presented the scientific and educational event's programme to the guests.

The seminar commenced with a welcoming address from Oksana Rotar, acting Director of #ЧОКМ. Vasyl Fedorak, methodologist at the Scientific and Methodological Centre for Language and Literature, History, and International Integration of IPPOCHO, greeted the seminar participants and emphasised to the attending educators the importance of a more in-depth study of the history of their native region from the early modern period in educational institutions.

According to the programme of the scientific and educational event, the following lectures were delivered for lecturers, history teachers, and local historians:

Andriy Fedoruk “Khotyn: the 1673 Campaign”;

Denys Pozniakov “Iconography of the Battle of Khotyn in 1673: Origin, Creation, and Use”;

Taras Kovalets “The Battle of Khotyn in 1673 in Light of Cossack Chronicles from the late 17th – first half of the 18th Century”;

Mykola Ilkiv “After the Battle of Khotyn in 1673: Archaeological Evidence”.

In addition, O. Rotar presented museum publications to the participants of the historical and local lore seminar: a brochure titled “What's in Your Name, Bukovyna?..” and booklets “The Statute on Tolls”: the first written mention of Chernivtsi” and “Khotyn: The 1673 Battle”.

All informational and scientific-methodological materials presented by CHOKM were distributed among educators from institutions in Chernivtsi Oblast and Chernivtsi city. O. Dragomyretska drew the attention of the educators to the fact that the relevant section of CHOKM's permanent exhibition features numerous original exhibits, which allow for integrated lessons and methodological classes on the history of our region, the history of Ukraine, and world history from the early modern period, all conducted at the museum.

Finally, all participants of the scientific and educational event received certificates.
