From 27 February to 31 March, the Chernivtsi Regional Museum will host the exhibition «Geometry of the Soul: the Magic of Bukovynian Patterns», dedicated to the 125thanniversary of thebirth of Heorhiy Haras – an outstanding ornamental-artist, Honoured Master of Folk Art of Ukraine.
His work – is a whole world of symbols, lines and signs, in which the memory of generations, the beauty of the native land and the depth of the national soul are encoded. The geometric ornament in his performance – is not just a pattern, but a living language of tradition.
The exhibition features:
🔹 works from the museum's collection;
🔹 works by members of the Bukovynian Club of Modern Embroidery «Vechornytsi» and the NGO «We Embroider Ukrainian»;
🔹 exhibits from private collections of artisans.
It's especially touching that the exhibition was joined by families of masters, as well as admirers of Heorhiy Haras’sworks from various corners of Ukraine and the world.
