On March 27, an exhibition filled with light and serenity opened at the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore. During these pre-Easter days, the museum space was filled with a special atmosphere – quiet, warm, and truly festive.

“Our exhibition is about traditions passed down from generation to generation. It's about the pysanka as a symbol of life, the beauty of folk art, and the light that each of us carries in our hearts,” said the event moderator, Liudmyla Kosovan, Head of the Scientific-Educational and Scientific-Methodological Work Department at the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore.

Nataliia Kholodnytska, Chief Curator of the Fund Department at the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore, introduced the exhibits to the guests, revealing the meaning and symbolism of each one. She began her presentation with the words: “We are sincerely happy to share these treasures from the museum's fund collection with you and invite you to pause for a moment, look more closely, and feel the festive atmosphere.”

Among the exhibition's exhibits are icons by an unknown artist from the mid-19th century: “Jesus Christ Pantocrator”, “Jesus Pantocrator”; pysanky from the collections of Ivan Snihur, Mariia Hasiuk (Vikno village, 1988), Vasylina Sumariak (Ust-Putyla village, 2007), Mykhailo Firchuk (Vyzhenka village, 1960s–80s 20th century); a set of postcards “Mariupol Pysanka ‘Ikanicha’” from the collection of the Mariupol Museum of Local Lore; paintings – Nataliia Ruda’s “Joy of Awakening” (2014), Alfred Tsyslav’s “Easter Still Life” (1996), Larysa Demianyshyna’s “Spring Evening” (2012), Kostiantyn Chuchko’s “Carpathian Spring” (early 21st century), Valentyna Trandafir-Lysak’s “Pysanka” (2026); and rushnyky (embroidered towels) that reflect the richness of Easter traditions and folk art.

A special mood is added to the exhibition by the “Ukrainian Sun” collection from designer Svitlana Krachylo, who joined the exhibition by presenting her own clothing, inspired by Ukrainian tradition.

After the official part, all attendees had the opportunity to get a closer look at the exhibition, examine the details, and experience this unique Easter beauty.
